Daft Punk’s 1996 Remix ‘Disco Cubizm’ Reissued For 20th Anniversary
Versatile Records is celebrating 20 years in the business with a very special reissue of 12″, featuring Daft Punk’s 1996 remix of I:Cube’s ‘Disco Cubizm’, one of the robots’ earliest releases, and an unreleased DJ Gregory remix of Cheek’s ‘Venus Sunshine People.’
This remix predates Daft Punk’s debut album, Homework, by a year, so it’s likely that many casual listeners have never heard this track. It’s a far departure from their more popular material on Discovery, though it fits in nicely with tracks like “Indo Silver Club” or “Daftendirekt.”
The EP is out on Versatile Records on March 18, as RA reports.
